About Pathfinders Therapy
“I am not what happened to me. I am what I chose to become.”
-Carl Jung
Having previously worked in education, my teaching and pastoral role in schools gave me insight into the impact that childhood life experiences can have on our development and the way we see the world around us. It also gave me an appreciation that we can all grow through what we go through.
My specialist area of interest is the lasting effects of trauma and the ways it can be stored in the body as well as impacting how we view the world and respond to life’s challenges.
My interest in ecotherapy stems from my love of the outdoors and an understanding of the crucial part it plays in our wellbeing. A keen fell-runner, wild swimmer and climber, most of my spare time is spent immersed in nature. I have experienced first-hand the restorative effects of nature when dealing with personal trauma and bereavement and my personal therapy takes place outdoors. I have a regular yoga practice and am a qualified mindfulness practitioner and can bring aspects of these to my work with you, if we feel it is appropriate.
